Hello, Lady of the Chateau! I have been a follow for months (i think? i forgot when I started following you haha!). I am from the Philippines and an art lover, history lover and I love traveling. I hope to attend one of your creative retreats perhaps next year? You have done an amazing job with this lovely piece of French history, and I would love to experience it in the near future. I took a little french in college but forgot most of it, hope to start learning again and travel that part of the world. Keep up the great work and with these amazing videos!

I discovered you via Stephanie Jarvis's vlogs, and I am so impressed by the relentless efforts you and Caroline put into renovating the château with historical accuracy, taste, elegance but also practical for your retreats: you definitely are a wonderful couple and dream team! Kuddos also to your parents and sister for embarking onto this very demanding and wonderful adventure with you !!! You now have a new follower in this French woman who has lived in England, Indonesia and now Germany and has always loved history and beauty in all its forms. PS: the vitty-green color for the shutters is definitely a winner!!

The mattress surfing made me smile :) My mum thought I was crazy when I said, and I'll get a shipping container and ship all our stuff there. Now I can say that you guys did it and it's not such a crazy idea. I think it's just because she sold nearly everything we owned before moving from New Zealand to Australia but I can't part with most of my stuff that I've spent years collecting and also treasure hunting for. I have an antique French display cabinet with a dome and carved dragon and phoenixes that perch on top of the dome I bought for myself a few birthdays ago which was a real bargain that I feel like it will be going back home. Thrifting for treasures and antiques in France to decorate a chateau is a dream, I can't wait and is something I enjoy watching others do ;) The tile paint did wonders. You're very inspiring and motivating!

The pair of lamps they found are so cute. The post cards are a piece of history. The one with the lady at the turn of the century would make a wonderful poster. So lovely to see the chateau community bonding and supporting each other :)

I'm from New Zealand living in Australia so I've been used to feeling like a foreigner for a long time. I don't mind it, I don't mind being a bit different and it's something interesting about me. Plus I'm part French on my dad's side so it'd feel more like I belong there than here and exploring my ancestry. And while I live in the suburbs I've always loved visiting the countryside and dream of living there. So, those things aren't going to be challenging for me. The language might be a challenge but I'm up for it and want to get more dedicated with learning it. I feel like the biggest challenges will be the budget, visas, starting and running a business in France including the legal requirements, the practical side of renovating and finding trustworthy ppl who do good work to help with things, sourcing things, my introverted shy side, my perfectionism.

I just found your channel via the Chateau Diaries. So, I'm going back to watch your journey from the start. Excited to see how that all goes and learn from you. I've wanted to move to France and buy a chateau for home and business with my mum and son. I've started an online version of the yet to be physical chateau so I can offer online courses and digital products to help save funds to be able to purchase an actual chateau to renovate, start an animal sanctuary and offer retreats/workshops/classes/events. It's called Chateaux Retreat and it's vegan/eco/ethical creative spiritual lifestyle. Maybe what I've already been doing could help with visa applications.

It’s always interesting to try and understand how an artist, in whichever creative field they work, gets to the final destination. Be it painting, pottery, poetry, writing, or designing, gardens buildings etc, I find it very interesting. Thank you.

Hi ladies and gentleman. I always love your videos and this one is just as beautiful. As I watch your videos I often think, “Gee he works well…she’s so clever…she’s a hard worker”, etc. I’ve come to the conclusion that you all put in equal parts of yourselves. Truly a labour of love! You’re doing great, you’re very professional and your passion alone will be your success. I know exactly how you feel. I hosted many Japanese farm stays (up to 4 nights per groups of 5 high school kids) on my property with only my young children helping. It was very tiring as we did all the cooking, housekeeping, farming activities, driving and entertaining with our guests. At times it’s 2-3 days between groups and sometimes a group would leave in the morning and another group arrive that same afternoon. Very demanding, but watching my children interact with and learn about a different culture was worth it and we still have contact with many of these students today. Your attention to detail is second to none! I hope you all have a great week. ❤Zeljka

So impressive. Your attention to detail is remarkable. I felt like I was immersed in the setting along with the participants. The studio is so stunning it might be worth a separate video this year of a before and after of the transformation. Your business model using art as the platform is so refreshing. Your chateau really showcases the beauty of French living while weaving in an experiential opportunity. Love your new staff rounding out your family team. Glad to know we can expect five more workshops this season. Can't wait!!

Just stunning. How I wish I was there. One hint I could give you was where you were doing the protective cover over the carpet for the indoor workshop. Buy two or three very large 'painters drop sheets'. In Australia we can get them in a very heavy-duty canvas/calico fabric. So nice and plain looking but will pick up any paint/water that falls on them. I know as I often kick a can of paint over when painting. It has saved me several times! if you buy a few of them you could sew them together, so it just rolls out in one big piece. To wash them, you could just throw them on the driveway, give them a hose off and they would dry out on a hot day. That way you could roll back up and it is ready for the next painting workshop. That would save having to do all the sticky taping Julia was doing. Anyway, hope that idea helps. Cheers Liane

Take lots of pictures for sources for your own paintings ❤️❤️❤️I love watercolours, I’d love to try acrylics and oils.

You need a painters drop sheet for your floor and carpet, it’s waterproof underneath, when it gets paint marks on the liner it becomes a colourful work of art in itself. You use it over and over again.

Once everything is set up, three weeks in between seems better than having large gaps in time. You will get better and better. Looks amazing ❤️❤️
